What made you want to work at TDL?
TDL has such a good reputation in the design world, both for its work and client base, as well as being a friendly environment where learning from each other is a daily given. It seemed like a natural next step in my career, and will no doubt help me develop and improve my skills as a designer as well as personally.
If you could design one thing what would it be?
I love interactivity within design, so probably an exhibit which plays on human experiences and our senses to create an immersive and memorable simulation. I once attended a live feature exhibit by Morag Myrescough at the NOW Gallery, which even included a ball pit!

If you weren’t a designer, what would you want to do?
Although I’d say being a designer is exactly what I want to be, if I couldn’t be, it would be a job that helps animals or people – maybe a doctor or vet. I’ve done some work before in hospitals, and I can say that helping people and their families in vulnerable times can be a very rewarding experience!
If you had to frame one piece of graphic design what would it be?
It would have to be something created by Massimo Vignelli – the most iconic probably his visualisation of the NYC Subway. His use of vibrant colour in my opinion is completely timeless and his design system works really effectively in this context.

What is one piece of work you’ve done that you’re really proud of?
I think the piece of work I’m most proud so far is a booth and accompanying material for a high profile tech event based annually in Marrakech, Morocco. I taught myself new software from scratch, met crazy deadlines and overcame several language barriers, and in the end it worked out really great!
What’s your “party trick”?
Incredibly dull, but I can very easily touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.
You’re having a TV marathon this weekend. Which box set would you choose and which snacks would you provide?
It would have to be a classic one, but is fully dependent on the mood of the weekend! I’d probably pick the Vicar of Dibley, or Family Guy if I’m more in the mood for cartoons. Snacks would likely be half salty, and half sweet for variety – something like grapes, some chocs, and crisps with dip would be ideal for me!
Who would be your dream client and why?
I’d love to be involved in a healthcare related project, particularly for the NHS. There are so many different approaches you can take in that sector, and I’d love to be able to make a difference to services on which many people (including myself) rely and use on a regular basis.

How do you embody the TDL team values?
Creative & innovative: I’m always striving to find a more interesting way to design by keeping an eye on trends, but also attempting to elevate these to create something unique and exciting each time.
Enthusiastic team: I am passionate about being a designer, as well as enjoying the challenges of working in a team. I’m constantly looking to improve my work, as well as embracing feedback and using it to increase my own standards.
Responsive & reliable: Being responsive and reliable, both to the TDL team and to our clients, is incredibly important – it really makes a significant difference to daily functioning. I feel that my method of operation relies on clear lines of communication, and flexibility to changing requirements.
What are three things you’d love to learn this year?
- Increase my level of fluency in Spanish
- Crocheting
- Become better at ice skating
You’re organising the TDL Christmas party – where do you send us?
Almost definitely to a German Christmas market! We’d have hot chocolates, mulled wine, snacks, and then follow that up with shopping and ice skating (I need to become better somehow!).
Think about your job role at TDL – which animal best represents you at work and why?
I’d say a meerkat – they’re constantly curious and inquisitive, and naturally work well within a group.
