A train waits at a platform at Paddington Station, London

THE CHALLENGE

Alstom required a coherent set of materials that translated across both print and digital formats. Balancing creativity with functionality was a key challenge – the design style had to be memorable and engaging, but also communicate a vast amount of detail, all in-line with the awards criteria.

SOLUTION 1: MULTIMEDIA BROCHURE

To support the first round of entry, we created an elegant brochure with a celebratory feel. The brochure needed to be just as compelling in digital format as it was in print, so although it was initially set up using spreads, we tweaked the layout to work in single page view when being read as a PDF.

SOLUTION 2: PRESENTATION

After progressing to the second round, Alstom were required to present to a board of judges.

To support their team, we created bespoke slide deck in-keeping with the look and feel of the brochure. We incorporated motion graphics to increase audience engagement, as well as micro animations and transitions to help the panel navigate through the presentation and demonstrate how each section was relevant to the brief.

SOLUTION 3: SUPPORTING HANDOUT

A 1-sided A3 placemat was created for each of the attendees to refer back to. This supported the presentation and acted as a reference point for the most important take-aways.

We were delighted to collaborate with Alstrom again, drawing on the editorial, print and digital expertise of our designers to produce an award-winning entry submission.
