Highlights this month included:
We have been added to another framework
After bidding last month we are pleased to announce that we are now on the Lincolnshire NHS framework, providing graphic design.
We’ve hired some new starters! In August we’ll be introducing a project manager and a couple of designers for the West Mids.
The team have been honing their motor skills with a new office basketball hoop.
Holiday Season is here
Holiday season has officially started at TDL with the team jetting off all over the place. Last month Ryan spent two weeks in America, splitting his time between Washington and New York whilst Craig enjoyed a week in Barcelona. This month has seen the team staying closer to home with Dave tackling Ben Nevis, Tom dancing the night away at Glastonbury and Oliver having a well-deserved staycation. All of this travelling has inspired us to look back at the design we have seen and loved whilst being away. Look out for next week’s blog where we will be sharing our highlights!
What the team have learnt about this month
I’ve learnt of the importance of doing design for good, not just good design after reading Do Good Design by David Berman.
This month I have worked on some bespoke bid packaging and learnt about using a combination of material, finishes and mechanisms to produce a high-end, luxury finish. Having visited the printers I have also understood the processes of how foil and deboss print finish are produced and how to prepare / optimise artwork for these finishes.
I was fully prepared for my lack of sleep at Glastonbury after working long hours on the HS2 bid.
I have learnt about adapting my designs for different audiences this month, as I’ve been creating lots and lots of menus for the healthcare sector. I wasn’t aware they would have such a variety of to cater for different patient needs.
I have been reading up about Charles Minard and his contribution in the field of information design.
I’ve had an inspiring June learning about improving justice in underprivileged countries.
