TDL partnered with the World Bank to design a complex, information-dense report on antimicrobial resistance. The goal was to turn technical content into an engaging and usable document. Alongside the full report, we developed a concise summary and a presentation version to support different audiences and decision-making contexts.

Turning antimicrobial resistance data into decision-ready insight for World Bank
The source material was long, technical, and difficult to navigate. Users needed to move quickly between sections and absorb key messages under time pressure. The content also spanned human, animal, and environmental health systems, requiring a cohesive visual approach that could unify complex themes without overwhelming or oversimplifying.
We created a cohesive visual language to bring clarity and consistency to the complex 244-page report, spanning six chapters. A structured system of colour coding and iconography was developed to support intuitive navigation and immediate visual recognition. The visual language was applied consistently across covers, section openers, margins, tables, and diagrams.

The design of the AMR report was critical in strengthening communication around an issue that is often perceived as highly technical and inaccessible. ”

Impact
Supporting a major healthcare issue
The World Bank shared very positive feedback, noting that the clarity of structure and visual consistency resulted in a report that was both informative and accessible. The colour-coded chapters and supporting visuals were particularly valued for helping different audiences quickly navigate through the complex information. The summary report further extended the reach of the work, providing a concise, persuasive tool for communicating the framework.
Collectively, the outputs strengthened the report’s impact and informed decision-making based on a major global healthcare issue. These outputs also played an important role in supporting the World Bank’s presence at the UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting in 2024, providing a strong, accessible foundation for engagement with governments and partners in more than 150 countries.
